Archibald Knox (1864-1933) was born on the Isle of Man. He began his professional design career
in London at Silver
Sudio of Design. By 1900, Knox worked directly for Arthur Lasenby Liberty's company. His
blend of Celtic inspired
ornament and form with his modernist sensibility for essential form, streamline design, and his comfort
with machine
production helped influence the evolution of Modernism. Please see "Metalworks" under
